Users engage in social augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) experiences by exploring and reliably connecting to 360° video cameras located at sporting events, concerts, museums & remote destinations, discovering friends through RCS Social Presence & engaging in real-time communication through IMS & RCS services. In both virtual and augmented reality sessions, users can layer in and interact with mobile network operator (MNO) level communication services such as VoLTE and ViLTE resulting in Mixed Reality (MR) experiences linking VR users with users connected through off-the-shelf mobile devices, expanding VR's reach to the masses.
Summit RCS Virtual Reality connects with pro-level HQ 360 live video streams such as provided by GoPro 360 camera rigs. Through the Summit VR app on Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, Pimax VR, Lenovo Mirage and Samsung Gear, users connect to live 360 degree video streams, then share the experience with friends through WebRTC and more impressively, with contacts available on telecom services connected through off-the-shelf VoLTE / ViLTE smartphones.
Summit VR video calling supports a wide range of 360 cams including high resolution cameras ideal for 5G/Edge Computing 8K streaming . By placing 360 cameras in remote locations, through Wi-Fi or 5G/LTE, users can remotely connect to live 360 degree 8k video streams, then invite contacts to share their VR view (see-what-I-see) in real-time using standard telecom RCS services such as IR.84 Video Share or IR.94 Video calling.
Summit’s VR Call supports entry level 360 cameras to broadcast level camera such as the Nokia Ozo. Ozo’s ability to output realtime 360 live spherical VR broadcasting, as well as capture high quality video and audio allows content producers to simultaneously produce streams for both live and on-demand purposes, including Summit's ability for users to communicate in realtime via off-the-shelf RCS and ViLTE smartphones.
When connected to Summit’s Mobile VR Broadcaster, Ricoh’s Theta 360 provides live 360 degree video streams connected to RCS messaging and IR.94 video calling. In integrated IMS networks, operators can additionally interoperate with CS voice and SMS communication services within 360 video streams. A low cost, rapid deployable VR Calling solution
Summit IMS enabled devices can now view and share real-time video feeds provided by industry leading drones. Drones notify RCS contacts when in flight, and then activate IR.84 Video Share along with RCS Location Share.
